      As a Branch Claims Manager, you will lead, develop, and empower your team to achieve goals and take them to the next level. You will drive claims performance for an auto claims team that is geographically dispersed. We will count on you for the achievement of business performance objectives and compliance while successfully balancing loss costs, budgets, expense management, superior customer satisfaction, hiring, and talent development. This leadership position will require someone who can:

      Under general direction from senior leadership, you will provide guidance, direction, and development of leaders and front-line team members through a continuous process of engagement and frequent claim file reviews. You will serve as a subject matter expert for state specific regulatory and claim handling requirements for the states within your region. You will support Mercury’s Purpose, Core Values, Vision and Strategies through words and actions.

      Responsibilities:

      • Focus on resolution and process improvement while maximizing cost effectiveness. Support our business partners with customer retention.

      • Successfully leverage data and technology to identify and make the most of opportunities to support business strategies and improve results.

      • Implement strategies and initiatives to improve file quality, customer service and manage costs.

      • Employ proper claim handling techniques to protect the integrity of our brand and to provide consistent service quality and streamlined processes to add value for our customers.

      • Proactively attract, retain, and develop world class talent. Manage staff and leader performance; implement strategies and plans to address staff development; identify and address training needs on an ongoing basis; provide frequent performance feedback.

      • Lead and actively participate in business meetings.

      • Ensure team members maintain a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs, leading with empathy to show we care.

      • Collaborate within multiple departments, e.g. Claims, Human Capital, Sales, Underwriting, and Product, to ensure alignment with Company Vision, Strategies, and Objectives.

      • Some travel may be required.

      Education:

      Minimum:

      • High School Diploma or GED

      • Adjuster licensing as required by regulators.

      Preferred:

      • Bachelor’s Degree

      • CPCU or AIC designations

      Experience:

      Minimum:

      • 5-7 years of auto Claims experience.

      Preferred:

      • 2-3 superior Claims people management skills or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

      Skills and Abilities:

      Minimum:

      • Requires exercise of independent judgment with respect to staff and claims issues which may have a significant impact on the Company in areas such as costs, consumer loyalty, and team member relations.

      • Has a passion for serving customers in their time of need.

      • Possesses advanced written and verbal communication skills to professionally represent the Company in multi-channel correspondence with internal and external customers.

      • In-depth knowledge of claims operations and ability to apply knowledge in a leadership capacity.

      • Ability to analyze, interpret and provide guidance for the resolution of complex liability and bodily injury claims.

      • Ability to facilitate engagement to maintain a high morale and to ensure employee retention.

      • Collaborates well with others. We are one team with a common goal.

      • Ability to build rapport utilizing emotional intelligence.

      • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word) and claims related software.

      • Must have dedicated workspace that is free from distractions.
