• Performs EHS training, including SafeStart/SafeTrack, Emergency Action Plan drills, New-Hire Orientation, Daily/Weekly Toolbox Topics, and Specialized training such as forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, etc.;
• Identifies existing and potential EHS problems and participates in developing corrective measures;
• Ensure compliance with organization and government EHS standards (i.e., OSHA, ADEM);
• Develops procedures to assure continuing compliance with regulations and organization standards;
• Maintains data in EHS management systems PREMS/PRACTSNET);
• Handles regulatory inspections/visits;
• Completes reports for submission to EPA, OSHA or other regulatory agencies;
• Conducts thorough accident investigations, property damages, with follow up and corrective action;
• Conducts required environmental tests, analysis, and observations;
• Ensures environmental discharges are within permit requirements;
• Completes sampling of various environmental media (air, water, and waste);
• Collects, labels, packages and ships samples for laboratory analysis;
• Develops injury/incident updates;
• Completes Self-Audits, J.S.A.’s, P.P.E. assessments, etc.;
• Inventory, purchase, and distribute P.P.E.;
• Issues and oversees Hot Work Permits;
• Completes Safety Program Updates & Safety Bulletin Updates;
• Reviews/ and verifies Lock out/Tag out procedures;
• Maintains accurate inventory of Safety Data Sheets (S.D.S.);
• Completes contractor audits (Browz and On Site Agreements);
• Conducts/Assists in Emergency Action Plan drills;
• Issues permits for live electrical work;
• Completes Ergonomic Assessments, Workplace Violence Assessments, Respiratory Fit Tests, and Respirator Inspections;
• Communicates with Health Services concerning incidents, worker’s comp cases, Return to Work, drug testing, physicals, Audiometric testing and Respiratory-related requirements;
• Staff member of facility management team;
• Prepare and present comprehensive safety update PowerPoint presentations at weekly plant wide communication meetings;
• Update safety KPI dashboard and communicate improvement initiatives;
• Provide oversight and direction to the plant Safety Council;
• Primary contact for site security; maintain respective door key register;
• Other duties as assigned. • Bachelor's degree in EHS related field preferred;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in safety and environmental field preferred. • Proven experience conducting EHS compliance;
• Solid understanding of safety practices and ability to conduct safety training on an ongoing basis;
• Effective communication (verbal and written) skills a must;
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, including company management, customers, staff, contractors, vendors, and site personnel;
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral;
• Strong presenter to large audience groups;
• Proficient computer experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
