- Responsible for managing systems operations and strategy in a 24x7 operating environment.
- Plans, coordinates, directs, and designs all operational activities of the IT Systems Engineering team.
- Provides technical direction and support for IT technical solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining industry best practices to secure information technology systems across the entire organization.
- Continually focusing on developing strategies and procedures to maintain secure system defenses against unauthorized access to external and internal networks, servers, and applications.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance and cost.
- Oversee technical designs providing high levels of reliability for systems while complying with enterprise architecture and security standards, industry regulations and best practices.
- Works closely with decision makers within IT and other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions.
- Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between IT Systems Engineering and other teams.
- Creates strong cross-functional business relationships to understand the organizational needs.
- Manages all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets.
- Manage relationship with managed service providers to ensure operational excellence.
- Implements performance metrics, SLA monitoring, and prepares periodic reports.
- Monitors and tracks project progress and reports findings to leadership.
- Ensures staff keeps current with technological developments within the industry.
- Manages professional employees, conducting work performance reviews and ensures work performance is adhering to company standards.
- Provide after-hours support to perform maintenance, upgrades, patches, and incident support.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant degree or equivalent experience is required.
- 8-10 years of experience required.
- Strong architectural knowledge of data center and network deployments in large-scale, highly-available environments. Experience conducting cost benefit analyses and leveraging results to drive technology solutions. Possesses a strong technical knowledge of VMWare, Windows Server, Oracle Enterprise, Linux, Azure, and Cisco.
