Key Job Elements
• Liaison with Welding Engineering and administer weld standards and policy as directed by Engineering to maintain the highest weld quality;
• Supervise and train welders to the highest level of quality, responsibility and performance;
• Maintain weld certification within the internal and external standards;
• Provide guidance and clarification of welder work to ensure compliance to established work instructions and procedures;
• Main point of contact for all welding related issues;
• Lead weld research programs and related technical projects;
• Coordinate and facilitate welding engineering meetings to resolve technical issues, cost reduction programs, layout improvements, and new process justification as required.Education / Training
• Preferred: Bachelors degree in Weld Engineering or Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 10 years experience as Welding Engineer in heavy industrial manufacturing/fabrication environment;
• Must have working knowledge of various manufacturing welding techniques;
• Experience in robotic welding applications;
• Must be able to demonstrate practical welding skills;
• Strong interpersonal and technical skills;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated competencies managing multiple work functions/projects;
• Experience in continuous improvement activities;
• Factory CAD, working knowledge of MRP, EPP, or SAP.Benefits
