Job Description

- High School Diploma or GED
- Ten (10) years law enforcement or security services experiences
- Proficiency with common computer software (Microsoft Office, Outlook,and Excel)
- Broad base knowledge of security, law enforcement, safety and Joint Commission and AHCA related standards. A well-founded management background with a diverse investigative background relating to safety, administrative or law enforcement matters
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business or related
- At least five (5) years to include at least five (5) years of management and/or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting

Summary
Position Highlights :
The Manager of Safety and Security manages the department responsible for security and safety. The position is responsible for developing and implementing the Security Management Plan as outlined in Joint Commission standards to ensure a safe and secure environment for all patients, visitors, staff and team members. The Security Manager serves as an advisor to the Environment of Care Committee for safety and security related matters. The Security Manager is the point of contact for law enforcement agencies and serves as a member of the Center’s Emergency Management Committee.
The Security Manager frequently interacts with senior management regarding physical security measures and team member safety, The Security Manager conducts administrative investigations regarding violations of administrative policy, workplace rules and regulatory compliance standards. The Security Manager is responsible for the physical security of sensitive and personal health information as it relates to the HIPAA.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Operations
Manges the daily operations of the Security department to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives . Directs the Security team to prevent and detect loss and risk. Accountable for business planning, scheduling, team member engagement and conducting security risk assessments. Adapts plans to ensure priorities and operational deadlines are met .
Patient and Workforce Safety
Promotes and maintains safety and security programs to ensure a safe and secure working environment that is accessible to the public.
Oversees security rounding of all Center facilities
Performance Management and Team Development
Responsible for hiring, terminating and, performance management of all Safety and Security team members. Creates an environment of accountability through a culture of service and engagement. Facilitates mission driven service and culture for an environment of excellence
Budgetary Responsibility
Responsible for department operational and capital budgets, forecasting, and department productivity.
Regulatory Compliance
Serves as a subject matter expert for Joint Commission, AHCA accreditation standards for safety and security. Serves as part of the incident command staff during disasters and emergent events that impact the Center.
