      Catalent are currently recruiting for a Scientist 2 to join the Microbiology team at our Swindon site. The Scientist 2 will keep records of all work in accordance with GLP and Company SOPs. To provide support to Senior Scientist and mentor junior members of staff with minimal supervision.

      This position is a 1 year FTC. Working hours for this role will be Sunday – Thursday. On Sunday you will be working on your own and responsible for all lab work such as In-process samples, incubation reading, ad hoc Environmental monitoring, validation and finished product transfer tests.

      The role:

      • Keeping environmental monitoring tracking spreadsheets up to date
      • Responding to OOS/ATR in accordance with SOP47/166 and other relevant SOP's
      • Finished product testing.
      • Raw material testing
      • Assist in gathering information for investigations conducted by Senior Scientists /Principal Scientists/Microbiology Manager.
      • Receiving, adding batches and reporting results on GLIMS
      • Updating the batch tracker for Microbiology testing dates
      • Writing MSRs for stability & development products
      • Identification of microorganisms —Sub- culturing, primary identification, Secondary identification using API
      • Trending of data, printing graphs for transcription checking
      • Train all members of staff on relevant procedures.
      • 3 month and annual review of water/EM data
      • Minitab graphs
      • Stage review, Approving, rejecting, and adding methods to GLIMS.
      • Assist where required in the evaluation and reporting of out of specification or atypical results.
      • Own and write Trackwise PR's and reports.
      • QUMAS originator
      • Execution of validation work (equipment & product)
      • To conduct any other activities as required by Line Management

      The candidate:

      • BSc or MSc in Microbiology or a pharmaceutical subject or equivalent experience
      • Must have knowledge of microbiology.
      • Team player
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
      • IT literate (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point)
      • Experience within a GMP environment is essential.
