      Job Description:

      Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking to hire a part-time skilled Microsoft SQL Server DBA. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability and security. This is a remote position. The hourly rate for this part-time position is $30-35/hr.

      Responsibilities:

      · Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.

      · Optimize database performance and manage scalability.

      · Monitor database systems to ensure secure and efficient operation.

      · Perform regular backup and recovery operations.

      · Implement and maintain database security measures.

      · Collaborate with IT teams to integrate databases with other applications.

      · Provide technical support for database issues and perform troubleshooting.

      · Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

      Plan and document cloud migration strategy.

      Requirements:

      · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Or 5 years of relevant experience.

      · Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA.

      · Strong expertise in database design, implementation, and maintenance.

      · Experience in migrating and managing SQL Server databases in Azure and/or AWS.

      · Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).

      · Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation tools.

      · Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring tools.

      · Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

      · Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      · Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).

      · Experience in high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

      · Knowledge of additional database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).

      Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
