      FAIRVIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT – POSITION DESCRIPTION

      Permanent Position-2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

      Anticipated Vacancy

      Pending Board Approval

      LOCATION: Fairview Middle School

      TITLE: Professional Teacher – All Subjects, Multiple Grade Levels (depending on the need due to class size)

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher

      2. 7-12 Secondary Certification in Mathematics, ELA, Social Studies, or any Science Certification.

      OR

      3. Pennsylvania Certification: One or more certifications in the following areas and the ability to obtain all four certifications within 1 year of employment.

      Grades 4-8 (All subjects 4-6, Math 7-8, 3100-01)

      Grades 4-8 (All subjects 4-6, Science 7-8, 3100-05)

      Grades 4-8 (All subjects 4-6, Social Studies 7-8, 3100-08)

      Grades 4-8 (All subjects 4-6, ELA 7-8, 3100-09)

      REPORTS TO: Fairview Middle School Principal

      SALARY: Per F.E.A. Contract

      EVALUATION: Annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation and the F.E.A. contract

      POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Be knowledgeable of subject matter and current instructional strategies and approaches to subject and grade level
      2. Demonstrate a variety of teaching methods and techniques which motivate students to perform at their optimum ability while maintaining appropriate use of classroom management techniques
      3. Utilize strategies that differentiate instruction to address the ability level of all students
      4. Demonstrate basic understanding of instructional techniques appropriate for students with cognitive and behavioral needs
      5. Utilize strategies and activities which encourage the development of critical and analytical thought processes by students
      6. Teach subject matter as prescribed in the Board-approved curriculum
      7. Demonstrate the willingness and ability to use writing in all areas of curriculum and work cooperatively with colleagues in other disciplines
      8. Demonstrate a knowledge of state standards in Mathematics
      9. Cooperate with staff and administration to promote and maintain a sound learning environment
      10. Be a professional role model for students and staff
      11. Participate in professional organizations, professional growth activities such as seminars, courses, workshops and staff development activities
      12. Communicate with parents and appropriate professional staff to discuss student needs and progress
      13. Adhere to all policies and procedures as delineated in the district’s Board manual, staff handbook and administrative requests
