Job Description
GTRI’s Force Protection Systems Branch (FPSB) in the Aerospace and Acoustics Technologies Division (AATD) within the Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems Laboratory (ATAS) seeks students with interests in systems engineering, test and evaluation, and data analysis. Students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the following areas:
• Systems engineering design of complex system-of-systems
• Command and Control systems requirements analysis
• Operational requirements assessment
• Performing aerodynamic trade studies and mission performance
• Analyzing sensor performance involving both active and passive sensing modalities
• Documentation of physical phenomenology that determines UAS signatures and sensor performance
• Test and Evaluation of unmanned systems and related technologiesStudents will likely split time between GTRI’s Cobb County and GT-campus locations.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Intern
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency using MATLAB or similar data analysis tools to evaluate complex data sets
• Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
• Understanding of operational concepts involving complex system architectures
• Experience working in teams to accomplish tasks and meet mutual objectives
• Ability to clearly articulate technical ideas and concepts using verbal and written communication skills
• Prior military experience or involvement in DoD projects and applications
• Active DoD Security ClearanceHours per Week
40 hours per week
U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
