      Basic Job Functions:

      The Repair Helper will be responsible for, but not limited to, assisting the Repair Person in taking care of any material in the repair area. They must be able to fill in for the Repair Person and make decisions based on product specifications. The Repair Helper must be able to use a computer, operate a remote-control crane, band saw, gag press, and other related equipment, as well as safely use hand tools and measuring devices for basic maintenance throughout the Finishing department. The Repair Helper must be able to communicate clearly and in a professional manner with other members of the crew and the Shipping Dept. Must currently possess and maintain certifications in crane and forklift operations. The Repair Helper must work in extreme weather and/or temperatures, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

      Minimum Requirements:

      Previous experience safely operating a gag press at production levels

      Maintenance Systems and Techniques Knowledge of servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment.

      Operation and Control Controlling operations of equipment and/or systems.

      Preferences:

      Finishing experience

      Successful completion of Finishing cross training
