      Job summary

      An opportunity has arisen for a 20 hour post working within a busy Minor Injury Unit/Outpatient Department/Wards at St Austell Community Hospital.

      This post requires the successful candidate to carry out minor injury treatments such as dressings, plastering, general observations and triage.

      Main duties of the job

      The ideal candidate will have experience working in an Urgent care/MIU/OPD/Ward environment and will have completed MIU skills/triage workbooks.

      Work will include:

      The provision of assistance to the MIU/OPD trained staff within the minor injury unit/outpatient department in planning, delivering, and evaluating care.

      Providing the booking in of patients and attending to patient's general needs in the OPD. All interventions will be carried out to a high standard under the supervision of the trained MIU/OPD practitioners

      To provide A&C support as needed to members of the team.

      This role will involve ward support at times.

      An ability to work under pressure in an emergency setting and a willingness to undertake further skills training is essential.
