      JOB PURPOSE:

      Operates weighting and analytical scales and mixing machine to blend drugs into solutions for processing, assure that Company complies with all internal and external standards and procedures.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Performs weighting and mixing process of raw material -drugs- (such as: Amino Acids, Metronidazole Heparin, Milrinoner etc) based on available resources and activities. This includes hydrolysis process of lactic acid.
      • Starts machine and adjusts valves for mixing process.
      • Operates machine until mixture reaches desired consistency as per mixing specifications.
      • Operates auxiliary equipment to prepare mixture for final processing.
      • Takes care of automatic mixing machine.
      • Assure that all drug mixing complies with all standards (SOPs), especially Good Documentation Practices.
      • Follow and comply with established SOPS, specifications and practices. Comply with CFR requirements.
      • Ability to solve daily quality and material issues to assure the most efficient, effective and safety product release.
      • Participate in the new products protocols.
      • Fill out, review and maintain all reports as required (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) in compliance with cGMPs, cGDP's and other internal and external standards.
      • Coordinate, monitor and perform sampling handling process, and refers them to Plant Pharmacist as required.
      • Perform routine area audit to ensure compliance with established company and regulatory requirements.
      • Teamwork oriented.
      • Able to work on special projects as assigned, occasionally.
      • Performs drug head count as required by procedures.
      • Willing to work extra hours, any shift and during weekends when required.
      • Support and back up the manufacturing department (mixing area) as required.
      • Willing to work under minimum supervision.
      • Must be able to keep the work area in the cleanest and organize conditions.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

      Associate's degree (A. D.) - B.S. preferred. Computer knowledge is required (Windows: Excel).

      • LANGUAGE SKILLS

      Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with the immediate supervisor, peers and coworkers. Ability to communicate, read, write and understand English/Spanish languages.

      • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

      Ability to apply advance mathematical. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.

      • REASONING ABILITY

      Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

      • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, EXAMS

      cGMP's Training, HAZWOPER Training (annually); Confined Spaces Training, Physical Exam, Forklift License and other certificates, exams or licenses that the immediate supervisor refers.

      • COMPANY REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

      Observes and promotes company security, industrial hygiene, cGMP's, procedures and other security measures already established by the company; should inform any violation. Able to follow all GMP requirements while conducting the assigned duties and completing official documents.

      • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds (with the appropriate safety equipment that Company provide). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

      • WORK ENVIRONMENT

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and extreme cold. The employee frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally exposed to vibration; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

      • SAFETY EQUIPMENT and/or EQUIPMENT

      The incumbent must use the proper equipment in any Baxter area to comply with Company policies, and any internal or external regulation; or policy (e.g. safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety gloves, uniform, and any other necessary equipment in order to protect the health and safety of the incumbent.) While performing the duties of this job the incumbent must use computer; small precision tools, telephone, office supply, hand tools, electrical tools, etc.
