- Planning the learning path by focusing on innovative pedagogical approaches
- Writing the storyboards of the modules
- Accompanying experts, such as Digital Cultural Classroom ( Classe Culturelle Numérique ) leaders or university certification managers, in order to help them define pedagogical objectives, transposing pedagogical activities to "digital learning" and choosing relevant evaluation methods
- Co-designing multimedia teaching materials
- Integrating the educational resources on the training platform (LMS)
- Ensuring the configuration, monitoring and updating of training sessions (planning of virtual classes and provision of multimedia teaching resources, creation of discussion areas, ...)
- Setting up tools to measure the progress of the training courses and processes
- Gathering opinions and satisfaction surveys from learners
- Ensuring a sectorial watch (digital learning, language training organizations...)
- Participates in the identification and sharing of pedagogical resource persons of the MLF America network.
- Assists teaching teams in the implementation of MLF's own projects and devices (digital cultural classes, educational forum, learning communities…)
- Observes and visits classes based on degrees taken for advising purposes (report writing; training suggestions; individualized teacher coaching). Accompanies and advises new teachers.
- Ensures permanent contact with the heads of the pedagogy service divisions at MLF headquarters.
- Prepares and participates in meetings of directors and management staff of the MLF America network.
- Participates in the preparation of the schedule of visits, as well as in the material organization of the missions.
- Prepares and participates in the meeting of new recruits in the network.
- Prepares and participates in the MLFmonde congress.
- 3 years experience in a training role.
- Significant experience in the first level.
- Experience teaching, training or directing in a French school abroad, if possible, in an English-speaking context.
- Experience in leading first and second level projects
- Experience in French as a foreign language (FLE)
- Experience in the implementation of distance learning
- Excellent knowledge of French kindergarten and elementary school programs
- Good knowledge of French middle school and high school curricula
- Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum would be a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills, efficiency
- Good level of spoken and written English. Minimum expected, B2 equivalent of the Common European Reference Framework for Languages.
- Ability to set up educational activities
- Proven listening and advisory skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Very good ability to use informatic and digital tools (LMS, CMS, …)
MLF America Pedagogical Advisor Job Description
Job Description
Under the authority of the Executive Director of the MLF America network in Houston, the Pedagogical Advisor will participate in accompanying the teaching staff of the schools in the MLF America network, consisting of approximately 30 schools of which most are located primarily in the United States, while two are in Canada.
This accompaniment will essentially be devoted to the training of the teaching staff.
The Pedagogical Advisor will focus on the specificity of pedagogical practices inherent to a bilingual environment in the United States and Canada.
The Pedagogical Advisor’s actions shall be aligned with the professional development policy as conceived by the head of this division in the MLF headquarters in Paris.
The Pedagogical Advisor will work in close collaboration with the two other MLF America Pedagogical Advisors (1 French-speaking, 1 English-speaking) and with the Pedagogical Managers of the schools to ensure that the support offered meets their needs. This follow-up can be done remotely or on site in the MLF America establishments. The mobility program is decided in consultation with the MLF America team and in close collaboration with the Professional Development Division at the French Secular Mission (Mission Laïque Française) headquarters in Paris.
