      Summary:

      The Child Mind Institute (CMI) is seeking a Mobile Body Brain Imaging (MoBI) Data Analyst to join the newly formed Mobile Body Brain Imaging (MoBI) Core. The successful candidate will work on studies investigating neural correlates, behavioral and/or cognitive of children, adolescents, and young adults with mental health and learning disorders. A range of laboratory methods will be used, including functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electrophysiology (EEG), physiological measures (e.g., actigraphy, heart rate, respiration), computer-based tasks, eye-tracking, and additionally, ecological assessments, including experiential sampling and cognitive burst sampling will be used to capture behavior outside the lab. With strong interpersonal and organizational skills, this candidate should possess a keen attention to detail, strong data management, and analyses, and documentation skills, willingness to learn and develop additional computer skills related to data management and preparation of data summary, manuscripts, and presentations. Projects supported will range from NIH-funded studies to large-scale initiatives (e.g., Next Generation Digital Therapeutics Program, SNF Global Center).

      Assistance in technical aspects of data collection may be required for specific projects to gain a deeper understanding of data structure and analysis needs. The Child Mind Institute fosters a collaborative environment where the MoBI Data Analyst will have the opportunity to gain excellent applied research experience, with the potential for publication. This position will regularly involve collaboration with other groups both within and beyond the Child Mind Institute.

      Reporting to the Project Manager of the Mobile Body Brain Imaging (MoBI) Core in the Center for Data Collection and Data Sharing Initiatives, this is an exempt, full-time position located in our NYC headquarters office. Montréal, QC, Canada can be considered as an alternative work location. A hybrid schedule is possible.

      Responsibilities:

      • General-purpose programming support for scientific and clinical projects, with a particular focus on data handling and analysis.
      • Ensures data entered is correct and consistent with the source document and completed in a timely and organized manner.
      • Implement and update quality data assurance and curation protocols.
      • Test, evaluate, and help to revise data processing / feature generation protocols.
      • Assist with the maintenance and revision of multimodal databases.
      • Responsible for protecting personal and sensitive information.
      • Assist with scientific literature review.
      • Attend and present at team meetings.
      • Contribute to peer-reviewed manuscript submissions for publication.
      • Assist in collecting imaging, physiological, and behavioral data for assigned studies.

      Qualifications:

      • Master’s Level degree in Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or other related field preferred. Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent experience is acceptable.
      • 2-3 years of research experience.
      • Prior clinical and/or research experience in neuroscience or mental health is preferred.
      • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Matlab, R and/or python) required.
      • Strong interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication, and the ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently.
      • Must be able to prioritize and multitask.
      • Detail-oriented and organized.
