      Are you a skilled Model Maker with a passion for precision and innovation?

      We’re looking for a talented individual to join our Test Lab Engineering Team. In this role, you’ll support the development of cutting-edge product designs and custom test apparatus by leveraging your expertise in CNC machining and hands-on fabrication. You’ll work closely with product engineers, test engineers, and lab technicians in a collaborative model shop and test lab environment to bring engineering concepts to life.

      This position will sit onsite in New Haven, CT full-time reporting to the Manager of Test Lab & Model Shop.

      What you will be doing

      • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings to accurately model component parts and assemblies.
      • Collaborates effectively with designers and engineers, maintaining a professional and solution-oriented approach.
      • Demonstrated expertise in operating milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, hardness testers, CNC machines, and precision measuring instruments.
      • Skilled in setting up and fabricating custom fixtures to support complex machining operations.
      • Experienced in working with a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, and wood.
      • Committed to maintaining a safe work environment through proper handling of machinery and materials, with a strong focus on personal and team safety.

      What we are looking for

      • Must have hands-on experience in a model shop or machining environment.
      • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or graduation from a technical trade school is highly desirable.
      • Proficient in the use of machine tools, hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and CNC equipment.
      • Strong knowledge of Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and G-code programming.
      • Should have exposure to Mastercam and SolidWorks (version 2018 or newer).
