Job Summary:
As an Enterprise Model Risk Manager, you'll provide oversight and facilitate the governance over the strategy of Allstate Enterprise Model Risk Management (EMRM). You'll be responsible and accountable for leading the enterprise model risk strategy and programs through the advancement of its various tracks. The role includes executing and directing various teams to perform enterprise model risk assessments and health checks, identifying areas that require model risk management (including deployments of AI and Generative AI models), revising and formalizing enterprise model risk management policy and supporting standards, as well as advancing automation of model risk management into the enterprise model deployment platform.
This role will require cross-functional coordination with several business areas. You'll be responsible for managing sub-teams and working laterally with modelers and technologists and will have the opportunity to have meaningful interactions with leaders across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a team that coordinates cross-functional enterprise model risk management and health check assessments
• Execute the overarching model risk strategy
• Supervise the execution of various model risk strategy tracks across the enterprise model risk management teams
• Further embed model governance controls across 1st and 2nd line, including the proactive identification of models as they are deployed / modified
• Coordinate the implementation of Generative AI and broader AI deployment requirements across the enterprise
• Prioritize and provide execution guidance over model risk assessments and identify cross-theme solutions
• Partner with Business Unit CROs and business leaders to integrate 1st line controls and capabilities into enterprise model risk management
• Contribute to support Enterprise Risk and Return Council (ERRC) and Board Risk and Return Committee (RRC) reporting
• Responsible for counseling, hiring, training and managing the core team as necessary
Functional Skills:
• Understanding model risk and business risk in the insurance industry
• Highly organized and highly proficient in prioritization and overall program management
• Experience with directly managing a team of risk professionals
• Has background in insurance business, audit/ risk management, and corporate strategy
• Possesses data driven decision-making skills
• Considers interdependencies (industry trends, business & economic conditions) and anticipates their implications when making recommendations
• Demonstrates experience navigating complex situations and seeking consensus from a diverse group of stakeholders
• Communicates complex subject matter effectively using a range of communication styles and methods
• Ability to manage relationships and establish a network of contacts throughout the organization
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills around complex business issues; strong leadership, project and time management skills; strong negotiation skills; strong desire to learn new processes
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
• 7 or more years of experience (Preferred)
• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Compensation offered for this role is $102,500.00-$170,375.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
