      Job summary

      Are you a dynamic and experienced nurse leader looking to elevate your career ? We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our senior nursing team in Surgical Services , here at UHCW.       You will be a high profile, accessible and responsive leader with managerial responsibility for nursing service delivery and advice across a number of departments within a group. Working as a Nursing lead within the group management structure, demonstrating and developing collaborative working within and across the MDT.

      Main duties of the job

      You will be able to make informed decisions within your own speciality and scope of professional practice, involving patients and public to ensure agreed standards, targets and objectives are met. The keys focus is on quality improvements in safety, effectiveness and patient experience. Corporate responsibilities including support for other colleagues and specialities and hospital bleep rota duties. Responsible for delivering the goals of the Matron's Charter (2004) taking a proactive as well as reactive stance on cleaning standards and infection control.

      3. Ensuring staffing is appropriate to patient need
      4. Empowering nurses to take on a wider range of clinical activities
      5. Improving hospital cleanliness
      6. Ensuring patients' nutritional needs are met
      7. Improving wards for patients
      8. Making sure patients are treated with respect and dignity
      9. Preventing hospital acquired infections
      10. Resolving problems for patients and their relatives
