      Job Description

      • Job Title : Molecular Biology Technical Writer
      • Job Type: Temporary, Maternity cover (12 months)
      • Hours : 20 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 9:30am - 3:30 pm
      • Job Location : Clydebank - Glasgow
      • Salary: From £27,000 (Pro-rata salary for 20 hours)

      Main purpose of the role

      To prepare technical GLP/GMP compliant reports for client studies in accordance with study timelines.

      The successful candidate will prepare, review, and update laboratory development, validation and, testing procedures in accordance with the relevant protocols, study plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

      You will assist managers in the analysis and interpretation of assay trending and preparation of Trending Evaluation reports (TERs) and support them in monitoring the status of deviations, Investigations, CC, and CAPAs within areas of expertise.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Provide regular updates to Department Managers regarding the status of ongoing projects and studies, in terms of report timelines, preparation, QA audit status, and finalisation.
      • To provide regular updates to the managers in terms of assay performance to ensure any trends are highlighted promptly.
      • To provide regular updates to the managers in terms of the status of any deviations, investigations, CC and, CAPAs.
      • Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with GLP/GMP, and ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures and that all risk assessments relevant to the work being performed (COSHH, GMO, etc) are read and understood prior to undertaking work. Perform all relevant Quality Control checks in accordance with the requirements of GMP.
      • Assist managers and/or SD/Sc/Rs in any investigation and/or corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) processes as required and provide technical laboratory support in conducting investigations and troubleshooting.
      • To prepare and or review documentation within areas relevant to your expertise.

      Qualifications

      Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g. BSc Hons in a biological science). An alternative equivalent level of expertise may be appropriate.

      Skills & Knowledge

      • Scientific background and laboratory skills relevant to Molecular Biology
      • Good communication skills, verbal and written
      • Ability to work under pressure, to tight timelines
      • Writing and word-processing skills
