      POSITION SUMMARY

      Performs a variety of tasks related to the collection, processing and deposit of system-generated revenue.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Operates currency and coin counting equipment and software in the processing of revenue.
      • Straightens, sorts, hand counts, and stacks currency into racks, as needed.
      • Straps dollar bills into batches of $100.00; bricks into bundles of $1000.00.
      • Maneuvers, stages and processes GFI revenue vaults, skids and bins utilizing a motorized high-lift.
      • Maneuvers, stages and weighs coin bins.
      • Sets up and operates high-speed coin counting machine.
      • Collects, prepares and distributes Transfer of Island Cash Vault reports.
      • Manually inputs vault data to receiving sheet and reports.
      • Manually records coin machine counts, inputs data to electronic software programs.
      • Monitors coin counting and sorting machines.
      • Removes slugs, foreign and mutilated coins from counting machines.
      • Examines vaults and locks for damage, records receipts of delivered vault, and places empty vaults in pick-up area for delivery to appropriated locations.
      • Manually maneuvers, offloads and transfers bills from bins to bags.
      • Knocks down and cleans sorter trays.
      • Transfers, prepares, packages, weights and sews bags of revenue for shipment to bank.
      • Sorts and bags slugs, foreign and mutilated coins; weighs, stitches, labels, records, stacks and stores in designated area.
      • Cycles off sort pan after each vault is processed.
      • Provides daily reports as needed.
      • Performs related duties as assigned.

      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

      • Must possess an excellent degree of manual dexterity to sort quickly and accurately.
      • Must pass applicable tests.
      • Required to pass a physical examination and perform the physical activities of the position.
      • Subject to background investigation.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      • Must lift, carry and maneuver material weighing up to 75 pounds.
      • Required to work in a sitting/standing position for extended periods of time (6 – 8 hours per shift).
      • Must be able to (get certified) operate a hand truck and motorized hydraulic lift truck to transfer vaults, skids and bins.
      • Required to have good or corrected color vision to distinguish mutilated and counterfeit bills.
      • Required to push, pull and lift bins of money and stoop to pick up money from floor.
      • Required to reach to pick up money from table and use hands to unfold, sort, straighten and feel for tape on bills.
      • Must have good vision and hearing.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

      • Must be able to follow instructions.
      • Must communicate effectively.
      • Must be familiar with the operation of a personal computer and Windows’ software.
      • Must possess a temperament suitable for maintaining amiable relations to facilitate the money handling function.
      • Must have knowledge of the machinery used in counting revenue.
      • Must be proficient in the use of basic arithmetical computations.
      • Required to write in a legible manner.

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      • Must remain within the Vault Operations security envelope for the entire workday.
      • Must adhere to established processing quotas and security policies and procedures.
      • Exposed to continuous noise, dust and moving machines and equipment.
      • Required to wear CTA owned and laundered regulation overalls without pockets during work shift.
