- Assist in the design of Activity MEL plan, procedures, templates and guidelines to support result-oriented reporting.
- Provide support to district level data capturing, analysis and quality assurance processes.
- Help with ensuring data quality assurance and leading data verification activities.
- Share information about reporting requirements and timelines and follow up with subgrantees and relevant Ain Shohayota team members to ensure timely submission of performance indicator data.
- Provide technical support for the maintenance of project databases, tracking mechanisms and data management mechanisms, including conducting data entry and regular updating.
- Assist in entering and storing of data to the Ain Shohayota’s online database by the subgrantees, help in maintaining this as an accessible source of information and ensure data safety and protection.
- Assist in the training and capacity building activities relating to Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning and CLA approaches.
- Assist in the conduction of internal data quality assessment on a regular interval.
- Maintain MEL files, folders and beneficiary counts and store them in organized manners.
- Manage communications with teams and external consultants.
- Assist in research and data analysis.
- Other similar responsibilities DI might reasonably request.
- Master’s degree in social science/development studies/statistics.
- Minimum five years of professional experience in MEL capacity.
- Strong background in qualitative and quantitative data collection, data entry, and data analysis; knowledge of research methodology an advantage
- Very comfortable with MS Word, Bangla and English composing skills, internet navigation, etc.
- Experience working with data management and analysis software such as SPSS, SAS etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in creating and managing cloud-based data collection system is an advantage.
- Ability to multi-task with strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, self-starter attitude, and flexibility.
- Strong writing and verbal skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and work with a wide range of stakeholders;
- Professional fluency in English is required;
- This position reports to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Director or Manager.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer
Democracy International (DI) is seeking to hire a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer for the USAID funded Ain Shohayota Activity in Bangladesh, based in Dhaka. The goal of the Activity is to promote people-centered justice through increased public participation, inclusivity, and data-driven approaches to strengthen the justice system. The specific objectives of this Activity are: i) Increase Demand for Responsive Justice Services, ii) Promote Pro-Bono Legal Services, and ii) Build and Utilize an Evidence-Base to Strengthen the Justice Services.This is a full-time position based in Dhaka, and is likely to require some travel across the Activity focus districts within Bangladesh. The ideal candidate will have responsibility to collaborate with and provide overall assistance to MEL Director to design and implement the Activity MEL Plan. This will be a full-time position based in Dhaka, and t his position is only open to Bangladesh citizens.
