- Provide a professional and efficient reception service to the Montgomery Unit Tumour Service. To greet and reassure patients on arrival and give them clear instructions ensuring a patient centred service is maintained at all times.
- Supporting Clinical Colleagues in Organising the daily running of the outpatient clinics, inpatient lists and maintaining patient flow through the department, whilst keeping patients informed of any delays.
- To liaise with clinical staff to ensure smooth running of clinics and theatre lists, and to develop good working practices and relationships with the team.
- Whilst arranging admission dates using knowledge of operating list capacity, plan operating list using specialist knowledge around Cancer Waiting Times and escalating any risk to meeting the waiting time targets.
- To arrange over the telephone appointments and admissions for patients.
- Ensure that patients receive all the relevant documentation pertaining to their admissions and appointments.

- Computer skills including data entry and/or Microsoft Office experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration
- NVQ Level 3 in customer service
- ECDL
- Recent customer service experience
- Administration experience of working in a busy office environment
- To understand Cancer Waiting Time Standards or have the ability to learn them
- Working in a healthcare setting with a customer service / patient facing role
- Excellent Communication skills and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to prioritise work within own scope of practice
- Ability to manage busy workload where accuracy and attention to detail is essential
- Understanding of confidentiality and the use of discretion
- Open, honest and acts with integrity
- Able to remain calm during potentially difficult and emotionally challenging situations

We are seeking to a recruit an efficient Booking Co-ordinator to the Montgomery Unit, who will manage and co-ordinate the out-patient and in-patient pathways from referral to admission

Main duties of the job
Maintaining a clear and robust inpatient and outpatient waiting lists, and ensuring capacity to treat all patients on the waiting list is available, working closely with the the Tumour Operational and Tracking Team.
The post holder will be required to focus on providing an excellent patient experience in all interactions; the post holder will demonstrate attention to detail and organisational skills. The post holder will also provide comprehensive administration support to ensure deadlines are achieved and flow of work is prioritised in order to meet targets and objectives.
