- Design and create animations for video and message displays using 2D graphics and video editing applications.
- Design and create static artwork for LED and LCD displays using various graphics editing applications.
- Produce and present design and animations from concept to completion for sponsors, sales, and consumer/fan enhancement.
- Able to work as a team to understand the market or customer vision and develop on-target creative solutions.
- Create artistic content targeted at a variety of display sizes and adhere to the customer branding.
- Create concepts of display projects, along with animations and graphic frames for demonstrations and presentations to customers.
- Ability to learn Daktronics products and control systems.
- Have a good understanding and knowledge of variety of retail and commercial niche but also sports and how the design can enhance the end user experience.
- Ability to anticipate customer concerns in the context of revisions.
- Working within a creative project management system.

- The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits and currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Visual Graphics, Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, or related program.
- The preferred applicant will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.
- Only strong academic performers will be considered.
- Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
- Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.
- Applicants should be available to work approximately 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Good oral and written communication skills.

- Self-motivation.
- Microsoft office experience preferred.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

What will the work look like for me?
This digital artist student position will provide you with extensive learning opportunities in the creation of LED and LCD display content as it applies to the advertising, retail, corporate, or sport industry. You will be prepared for full-time employment through exposure to creative processes and by honing your technical skills on manipulating and combining graphics with text to enhance and complement the brands of our potential display owners.
To be successful in this position one must have a strong demonstrated understanding of design principles and have the talent to clearly articulate ideas through visualization and 3D technical graphics.
Candidates must be enrolled as a student and registered for at least 12 credits.

Where is this opportunity located?
Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a South Dakota home office or Daktronics location. We have a preference for this individual to reside near our corporate headquarters in Brookings, South Dakota. Much of the work for this position can be done from a home office.
What are the pay and perks?
The typical hiring range for this position is $13.75 to $14.50 per hour based on a South Dakota home office. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.
Students with GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 Academic Excellence Reward for each spring and fall semester completed while employed. Additional conditions may apply.
