      • Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.

      Responsibilities

      • The MRI Technologist is responsible for producing diagnostic images safely using MRI technology.
      • Reviews patient's chart and/or physician's order to determine optimal imaging parameters for suspected pathology
      • Selects the proper imaging coil for the study
      • Performs imaging studies using proper scanning techniques and protocols
      • Works with physicians to optimize MRI sequences to produce the highest quality MRI image
      • Administers contrast media based on the patient's height and weight when ordered, including GFR screening and lab work
      • Screens patients and family members for MRI safety and contraindications
      • Verifies pregnancy status, when appropriate
      • Obtains MRI consent documentation when appropriate
      • Documents diagnostic and patient data in the appropriate record
      • Administers MRI safety, screens patients for contraindication (i.e., foreign bodies, medical indications)
      • Determines whether the patient has been appropriately prepared for the procedure
      • On-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy
      • Performs daily clerical duties, which include the use of HIS systems, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital
      • Perform any and all other duties assigned

      Qualifications

      Job Requirements:

      • High School Graduate/ GED required or Diploma from a Vocational/Technical school
      • 1 year's experience
      • Must be MRI certified within one year of hire
      • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
      • Maintains CEU Credits.

      Preferred Job Requirements:

      • 2-4 years' experience
      • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certificate.
      • Prior MRI experience.
      • Experience with imaging equipment (scanners), patient care equipment, and filming equipment.
      • Experience with power injectors and storage devices.
      • Experience with Teleradiology system/PACS System.
