About the Minority Serving-Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC):

MS-CC envisions a transformational partnership to promote advanced cyberinfrastructure (CI) capabilities at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). This will be accomplished through community-building and workforce development opportunities, consulting services provided by MS-CC’s core team of CI experts, and establishing capacity-building connections among institutions. The MS-CC is financially supported via multiple National Science Foundation grants and operational support provided by Internet2.

Reporting to the MS-CC Director of Cyberinfrastructure Programs, the Cyberinfrastructure Facilitator (CI Facilitator) plays an active outreach role in supporting member campuses and their constituents in advancing their research and education missions. This position involves directly engaging with researchers and educators to understand CI requirements, recommend relevant CI solutions, and guide their implementation, often as part of a CI service-supporting team.

      Responsibilities:

      • Forge strategic partnerships with researchers, educators, and IT teams across MS-CC institutions to amplify their CI capabilities and accelerate their missions. Serve as a trusted advisor who translates visionary research goals into practical CI solutions, including architecting migrations to scalable data and computing environments.
      • Connect MS-CC participants with premier CI experts and resources across the national ecosystem, opening doors to unprecedented opportunities.
      • Champion CI advancement at MS-CC institutions by designing and delivering engaging workshops and training programs that inspire faculty, staff, and students to harness cyberinfrastructure's transformative power. Drive strategic communications and event initiatives that maximize engagement and participation from HBCUs and TCUs through personalized outreach.
      • Bridge connections between leading CI communities (e.g., CaRCC) and service providers (e.g., OSG/PATh, ACCESS, industry partners) to create pathways for minority-serving institutions to access world-class resources.
      • Build lasting relationships that enhance CI capabilities and foster innovation across the MS-CC network.
      • Navigate and leverage the national CI ecosystem to bring maximum value to MS-CC participants.
      • Partner with Internet2's elite teams (Research Engagement, Network Services, NET+, and Trust and Identity) to shape how MS-CC elevates campus research and education programs. Collaborate on strategic planning and execution of high-impact MS-CC initiatives.
      • Lead the development of MS-CC's premier workforce development and community-building programs, including vibrant communities of practice, transformative CI mentoring, and career-launching internship opportunities.
      • Discover and share game-changing use cases, services, funding opportunities, and professional development pathways that empower MS-CC campuses.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a data-driven field.
      • 5+ years of proven success facilitating CI resources for research and/or education at higher education institutions, spanning data storage and transfer, high-performance computing, software and workflow development, and visualization.
      • Demonstrated expertise applying CI solutions across diverse domains including Life Sciences; Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences; Arts and Humanities; Engineering and Computer Sciences; and Physical and Natural Sciences. Passionate commitment to democratizing access to advanced IT for research and education.
      • Comprehensive understanding of CI strategies and services, including workforce development initiatives, whether campus-based or externally operated.
      • Outstanding communication abilities with proven skills in listening, analysis, and synthesis; compelling writing and presentation capabilities; talent for making complex technical concepts accessible; and excellence in both in-person and virtual collaboration.
      • Track record of success in collaborative environments with strong organizational and facilitation expertise.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master's degree (or equivalent) with data-intensive research focus.
      • Direct experience with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), or other minority-serving institutions as defined by the Department of Education.
      • Hands-on experience architecting and implementing campus CI services for data-intensive research and education.
      • Strategic planning expertise in Campus CI initiatives.
      • Grant writing experience and knowledge of CI funding landscapes.
      • Established connections with Internet2 and leading CI communities across the United States (e.g., NSF PATh/OSG, ACCESS, CaRCC, TrustedCI).

As a full-time employee, you will be eligible to participate in Internet2’s employee benefits program effective on your start date in accordance with the terms and conditions of each plan. The program currently includes medical, dental, life, vision and disability insurances, a health spending account program, sick time, vacation time and a tax deferred retirement plan.
