      Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated Booking Office team, based at Loughborough Hospital. Working as part of our Booking Office team, you will be central to the operation of the MSK service within LPT.

you will come into regular telephone contact with patients accessing all of our clinics, around the City and County . You will also provide administrative support as required to those therapy teams.

Accessing the SystmOne electronic patient record system to record referrals, book appointments and note key comments regarding interactions, it is important that you are confident to use a phone with headset and a computer. Full training to use SystmOne will be provided. Due to the nature of the role, a telephone usage test may be administered as part of the interview process.

We are aware that there will be a steep learning curve on joining the team, and want you to be reassured that you will be trained and supported every step of the way. Due to the nature of the role and of the Booking Office function, home working is not suitable for this position.

The Hours of working will be 8.15am to 16.15pm Monday to Friday

      Main duties of the job

The majority of your time will be taken up by making and receiving calls from and to patients and their representatives. Most of these conversations will involve routine enquiries, including patients calling to refer themselves in for physiotherapy. For a lot of our patients, a telephone call to the Booking Office is the first contact they have with our service so obviously we want the experience to be a positive one.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
