      Job Title: Accounting Administrator

      Department: MSO- Accounting and Payroll

      Reports to: Director of MSO- Accounting and Payroll

      SUMMARY

      Assist MSO member YMCAs by carrying out the daily responsibilities and routines of the MSO (Management Service Organization). The MSO is a branch of the Indiana Alliance which provides Accounting and Payroll Services to member YMCAs. The MSO Accounting Administrator will be assisting the needs of the YMCAs by performing the following duties:

      Accounting:

      • Work with client YMCAs staff liaisons to provide information, maintain documents, and ensure MSO process compliance

      • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, GL account numbers, and approval prior to entry

      • Perform accounting transactions including accounts payable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations within the accounting system

      • Reconcile and report any discrepancies found in records

      • Check for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings

      • Perform data entry functions, manual journal entries, including month end/year-end adjustments

      • Prepare check payment file

      • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices

      • Maintain vendor records including W9s ensuring correct tax forms (1099s)

      • Review for reasonableness

      • Assist with annual audit 990, C-Trac filings, and Y-USA reports

      • Prepare required reports (sales tax, business entity, etc.)

      • Month end close conducted by the 8th of the month

      • Provide training for the client YMCA staff liaison

      QUALIFICATIONS

      To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

      • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate degree in Accounting

      • 2+ years of Accounting experience preferred.

      • Knowledge and comfort with Microsoft products, and knowledge of bookkeeping software a plus

      • Self-motivation and excellent problem-solving skills

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      • High attention to detail

      • Must be highly organized

      • CPR, First Aid Certificate and Child Abuse Prevention within 30 days of employment

      • Must have integrity
