Diversity and Inclusion | Morrill Scholarship ProgramFunction Statement: Situated in Ohio State’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), The Morrill Scholarship Program (MSP) is one of the university’s premier merit scholarships rewarding academically talented students who are actively engaged in diversity-based leadership, service, and social justice activities. The MSP mission is to support students’ achievement through scholarships and education enrichment programs that inspire advocates and champions of diversity, inclusion, social justice, and academic excellence on campus and in the broader community.
The MSP Program Coordinator plans and implements student engagement and post-baccalaureate initiatives, conducts success coaching sessions, and coordinates signature program events. The role helps to strengthen students’ research and internship experience, job placement, and entry into graduate and professional school programs. This person also assists with recruitment, retention and yield activities for the Morrill Scholarship Program.
This position reports to the MSP assistant director and works with a small staff of five colleagues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; knowledge of or experience in working with students and staff; demonstrated skill in working with diverse communities and cultural groups; comfortability or experience with designing and delivering public presentations; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with groups and independently; excellent organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field; experience working in a college or school-based setting; teaching experience; knowledge of holistic admissions and scholarship practices; knowledge of post-baccalaureate preparation programming for students who are graduate/professional school bound; knowledge of graduate/professional school admissions process.
Shift: First shift (8 am – 5 pm). Occasional evening events or overnight. Position may be eligible for hybrid schedule after introductory period.
Additional Information:
The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 22.69 - $29.93 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
