What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Investigate and adjust multi-line liability claims in accordance with established claims handling procedures
- Review medical, legal, and miscellaneous invoices to determine reasonableness and negotiate disputed bills
- Authorize and make payments of liability claims within settlement authority
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys in accordance with client authorization
- Prepare reports detailing claims, payments, and reserves for client monitoring
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of claims management experience or equivalent education
- At least 3 years of experience handling commercial trucking cargo claims
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex claims and determine liability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing commercial transportation and cargo claims
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Adjusters license preferred or the ability to obtain one within the first 60 days of employment
- Proven claims handling performance levels in a similar role
- In-depth understanding of commercial transportation regulations and cargo insurance policies
- Proficiency in claims management software
- Strong negotiation skills to resolve claims efficiently
