      Under the direction of an assigned supervisor or manager, produce high-quality multimedia content in one or more areas, including audiovisual technology, video production, photography, print communications, and other digital media to support marketing, communications, and/or strategic priorities. Oversees digital asset management of related materials.

      **Position allows for telecommuting/work from home (up to 5 days per week depending upon business need and leader approval) with frequent on-campus travel. Our office is located in Iowa City, IA.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      · Photography/video: Acts as the digital image specialist for the Communication/Marketing department. Captures, creates, and edits images and video for a variety of needs throughout the organization. Serves as internal researcher and consultant for all visual deliverables. Attends and covers major organization and campus events assigned by supervisor.

      · Digital asset management: Creates and maintains a digital management system and digital inventory procedures. Keeps all photography and videography assets organized, searchable, and accessible by the other members of the communications team through our digital asset library, as well as searchable through our file server. Assets must be able to be referenced for future projects which may not be related directly to the current photo or video shoot.

      · Scheduling: Actively schedules and maintains the calendar for photo and video shoots while maintaining communication with creative partners and campus contacts.

      · Maintain project assignments: Must be able to self-manage assignments and daily work through the use and updating of a project management tool and help coordinate on tasks with small and large groups throughout the organization and on campus.

      · Campus collaboration: Serves as the department contact with campus peers in photography and videography roles. Assists in communication, collaboration, and outsourcing partnerships as necessary.

      · Equipment and studio maintenance: Multimedia Specialist is responsible for the safety, upkeep, and maintenance of all video and photo equipment held by the department. All items should be stored securely and orderly and organized into an up-to-date inventory list. Maintains the studio space to be kept in presentable condition in order to bring in subjects for photo and video shoots.

      · Equipment loans and checkouts: Manage and facilitate loaned equipment as necessary, either in shared partnerships with our campus partners, or in extra camera check-out by internal organization partners.

      · Digital expert: Keeps abreast of latest technological advancements in photography and digital media to assure that the organization is employing the most efficient, innovative, and cost-effective methods and materials for video and photo projects.

      · Concepting: Takes initiative to concept, story board, develop, and execute video messaging.

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

      · Associates or Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, photography, video production or related field, or equivalent experience.

      · Minimum of two years of experience in photography, videography, or related field.

      · Extensive experience with photography, video, and graphics software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.).

      · Advanced use of photography and videography equipment, including digital cameras, stabilizers, lighting equipment, and sound recorders.
