Located at what was once the largest plantation in Wake County, Mordecai Historic Park is looking for a new Museum Educator. While there are many aspects of this job, the primary responsibilities are focused on our education program and guided tours. This position is a great opportunity for those who wish to expand their experience working on historic interpretation and presenting to the public their own passion of history while working at a site which boasts an incredible collection dating back to the late 1700s.
Job duties include leading guided tours of the property and buildings, leading field trips for elementary aged students, assisting with special events, providing staff support during facility rentals, working in the gift shop, and other duties as assigned.
Applicants should be comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and should feel comfortable leading guided tours and field trips once training is completed. Applicants should be customer service focused. A degree in history is preferred.
This position is for up to 19 hours a week. Applicants must have weekend availability with some weekday and evening availability.About the company
