Create music lesson plans that balance creativity and technique
Teach classes to a group of students ranging from 11 years to adult.
Collaborate with the Dance Studio Program Coordinator to plan music selection, costumes, and performances.
Prepare an informal end of semester showcase for a small audience to see what your students have learned.
Qualified applicants may be offered to teach one or more classes.
Sufficient training and competency in your field of expertise.
Experience with teaching a music class and preparing for a performance.
Preference will be given to applicants who specialize in both voice and guitar.
Tuesday mornings, 10:30-11:20am (Youth Group Guitar)
Wednesday afternoons, 2:00-2:50pm (Youth Group Voice)
Beginner guitar course to introduce students to chords and strumming.
This class will help students begin to learn the basics with group songs and work toward small groups and/or solos.
Parents will be invited to watch students at the end of the semester as designated by the teacher.
Beginner vocal class to teach students about caring for their vocal instrument and learning new singing techniques.

05/11 Provo City's Covey Center for the Arts is seeking qualified Music Instructors to join our Summer 2025 semester! Qualified, civic-minded individuals interested in providing these services to Provo residents are encouraged to apply.
The Covey Center provides a variety of music classes for all ages. The mission of our program is to offer non-competitive, quality classes for the community at an affordable price. Our classes are a wonderful introduction for children who may want to move on to a studio later or for families who are seeking an alternative to studios altogether. What is the compensation?
Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00 per hour

What are the hours and duration of this position?
Classes are typically held Monday through Thursday in semester-long increments. Teachers often teach 2-5 hours per week, depending on preference and availability. This position runs for the duration of the 2025 Summer Semester, June 2 - August 8. Classes for this semester are as follows:

What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on DATE. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
