- Instruction and Curriculum Development:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging band and orchestra lessons to elementary students.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with state and district standards.
- Use diverse instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful learning space.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Travel and Coordination:
- Travel between multiple elementary schools within the district according to a set schedule.
- Coordinate with school administrators and other teachers to ensure seamless integration of music programs.
- Manage logistics related to transporting instruments and teaching materials between schools.
- Performance and Events:
- Organize and conduct student performances, concerts, and recitals.
- Prepare students for participation in district and regional music events and competitions.
- Collaborate with other music teachers to plan and execute joint performances.
- Professional Development and Collaboration:
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to support and enhance the music program.
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events as required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Certification: Valid state teaching certification in music education.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching music to elementary students is preferred.

- Proficiency in playing and teaching a variety of band and orchestra instruments.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

- Ability to transport and set up musical instruments and equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and conduct musical performances.
- The role requires travel between multiple elementary schools within the district.
- The teacher will work in classrooms, rehearsal spaces, and performance venues.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for performances and events.
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card

American Leadership Academy is accepting applications for a Band/Orchestra Teacher for our San Tan Valley campus (K-6) for the 2024-2025 academic year. This position will service San Tan Valley, Signal Butte, and Ironwood Elementary Campuses.
