Challenger School is seeking a talented individual to join our team in California as a music teacher. Music is a vital part of Challenger’s proven curriculum. As a music teacher at Challenger, you will be responsible for teaching children music concepts such as rhythm, singing, recognition, interpretation, movement, and dance. Challenger School does not teach band or how to play instruments. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple grade levels and will also plan and direct the music for the annual Christmas Sing and Spring Program events. This position may include teaching other elementary subjects, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly learn and deliver Challenger’s curriculum, teaching methods, and philosophy
• Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment
• Assist teachers in multiple classes with music curriculum and concepts
• Produce student musical programs twice yearly
• Work patiently with students, parents, and coworkers

Qualifications

• 2 years of college education or equivalent classic music training and experience in music, voice, and/or piano
• Proficiency in piano accompaniment and voice delivery techniques

• Ability to pass a background check
• Completion of pre-employment assessments
