      Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. Our treatment philosophy is based on a team approach that treats patients with dignity and respect, while delivering high-quality care.

      Position Summary

      The Music Therapist conducts the activities of music therapy in order to improve functioning and independence and to provide activity resources and opportunities for all patients with a focus on improving health and well-being.

      Job Duties/Responsibilities

      • Conducting an activity assessment on patients
      • Conducting therapeutic activity groups
      • Maintaining the health and safety of patients
      • Completing and documenting evaluations of progress and participating in treatment team

      Qualifications

      • Master’s Degree or Bachelor's in Music Therapy
      • Two (2) years’ experience providing Music Therapy. Prefer minimum of two (2) years in a psychiatric setting with children, adolescents and adult population preferred
      • Certified Music Therapist Credential required
      • Working knowledge of music therapy programming. Effective oral and written communication skills. Therapeutic Boundaries, Search and Contraband, Risk Management, Infection Control, Common Psychiatric Diagnoses, Fire Safety. Behavioral Management.
      • Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
      • Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM
