- Assists in the development and utilization of music therapy materials to educate staff, patients and families, and other professionals and the public regarding music therapy.
- Attends interdisciplinary meetings with multidisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate needs of patients.
- Completes and documents patient centered/individualized music therapy assessments needed to develop treatment plans.
- Conducts individual and group therapy sessions.
- Coordinates care with all members of the health care team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide care/ service safely and efficiently. - Implements goals through the use of music therapy services to patients and families in a safe, timely and appropriate manner.
- Provides music therapy and assists with procedures to all pediatric patients throughout the hospital.
- Recognizes and addresses the physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of patients through music.
- Recognizes the importance of cultural diversity, maturational level and individual preferences and needs.
- Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

- Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from an AMTA accredited college or university.
- High School Graduate
- 2 or more years of clinical experience.
- Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) or intent to take the exam within the first 9 months of employment.
