- Continue to evolve Gartner’s global strategy for the assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of strategic and operational security-related risks, manage crises and incidents, and safeguard the organization’s assets.
- Drive a centralized security structure (including policies, protocols, team and resources) that continues to ensure the safety of associates and property throughout the global organization, inclusive of our conferences (events) business.
- Provide executive protection and logistics support, as needed, when senior executives travel.
- Continue to enhance standards for, and oversee, site security and safety operations for all Gartner offices and corporate events either directly or through team).
- Continue to evolve Gartner’s risk assessment process to constantly identify new and emerging security risks, evaluate mitigation options to reduce these risks, and direct the implementation of security strategies and systems that will reduce such risks to an acceptable level.
- Lead Gartner’s global, multi-tiered crisis management program.
- Research and deploy state-of-the-art technology solutions, innovative security management techniques, and other procedures to ensure physical safety of associates and visitors at Gartner offices and Gartner conferences.
- Maintain strong working relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement, intelligence, and other government agencies in key locations, as well as private sector security risk management counterparts.
- Oversee incident response planning as well as investigation of security breaches.
- Work in collaboration with the company’s information security team to develop joint approaches to manage vulnerability assessments and corresponding mitigation.
- Oversee the travel safety program to ensure Gartner meets its duty of care, including for travel to medium- and high-risk locations.
- Develop and manage Gartner’s corporate security budget for associates, systems, security teams, and tools.
- Partner with other internal teams (example: HR, IT, Employment Law) to support corporate investigations.
- A minimum of 10+ years as a corporate security and risk executive required, particularly within the Fortune 1000
- Excellent collaboration and influencing skills, and the ability to partner successfully with diverse group of internal stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present effectively to audiences at all levels of the organization, up to and including senior-most executives.
- Strong leadership and management skills, and the ability to hire and develop internal talent.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make decisions and prioritize effectively using both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify solutions that are effective within the context of the organization’s corporate culture and risk tolerance.
- Master’s or other advanced degree in relevant subject strongly preferred
- Professional security certification preferred, e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed
The MVP Corporate Security is responsible for ensuring a comprehensive global security program that effectively supports the company’s vision, strategy, and goals while maintaining consistency with Gartner’s risk profile and tolerance. The scope of this role covers all security and safety functions, including enterprise risk management (ERM), physical security, crisis management & business continuity, events security, occupational health & safety, intelligence collection and analysis, travel safety, and executive protection.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 184,000 USD - 255,990 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
