- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.

- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization, be free of all communicable diseases, and obtain appropriate immunization against communicable diseases.
- Ability to complete required training certificates, and maintain certifications or credentials required by Federal, State, and/or national accreditation institutions used as part of DoD's Child and Youth Programs.
- Must have or be able to obtain within the first 60 days of employment the following certifications: . First Aid . Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation . Forklift Operator . Safe Inflatable Operators Training Organization (SIOTO)
- Knowledge of safe and efficient operating techniques of various large equipment and power tools: (Operates a variety of power equipment to include, but not limited to: posthole diggers, blowers, weed eaters, power washers, mowers, box trucks with lift gate, etc.)
- Ability to operate and control riding mowers on slopes which requires constant attention to working space and environment.
- Ability to safely operate equipment around buildings, walls, trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, trenches, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles.
- Ability to operate various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift/lower, adjust, engage/disengage components or attached devices.
- Knowledge and skill using hand tools and other equipment such as: shovels, rakes, hammers, bars, saws, axes, loppers, wrenches, brushes, brooms, ladders, banding equipment, and pallet jacks.
- Ability to complete assignments involving several tasks by following detailed processes which require remembering directions, sequences, following simple drawings, etc.
- Ability to follow general instructions or read simple drawings to perform tasks requiring significant manual skill.
This position is assigned to the Community Recreation Division; Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department; Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC). The purpose of this position is to perform duties commonly found in a variety of work situations and incidental to many different occupations in MWR, such as grounds maintenance, warehouses, facilities, and rental operations. This involves heavy labor, the use of hand and power tools, operating motor vehicles, towed, and large equipment.Duties
