Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Professionally applies standard engineering practices, disciplines, documented FES processes, written/verbal communications and teamwork to assist FES engineers in satisfying customer requirements. Assists FES engineers in the design/development/qualification/test of electronic systems and products for Aerospace and Defense programs. Performs tasks such as drawing checks, product build, test, integration, and trouble shooting. Develops/reviews technical documentation as required. Assists in proposal development and special projects as directed.
Two (2) Intern Positions available
Education: College or above : Seeking Degree/major: Junior/Senior Level or above College Student majoring in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering/Engineering Technology.
Qualifications: Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States (no sponsorship). Background/Credit Check is required. Must be able to pass Drug/Alcohol Test. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at one of the following qualifying colleges in Oklahoma: OU, OSU, Langston, Cameron, East Central, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southern Nazarene, Tulsa University, Tulsa Community College, or Redlands Community College .
Related Work Experience required : 0+ years of engineering experience. Understands and professionally performs electronic circuit design, mechanical design, software coding/documentation, and other tasks directly related to applicants engineering field of study. Understands, interprets, and correctly applies engineering design principals in the development and review of engineering drawings and technical documentation as required by applicants engineering discipline. Completes task assignments that meet technical requirements within schedule and cost constraints. Employs technical analysis and rigorous engineering processes to resolve technical issues within the applicant’s field of engineering study. Clear communication of ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing.
Special Skills/Abilities required : Adept in MS Office applications. Understands/utilizes engineering tools for PWB layout, circuit simulation, mechanical modeling, software development/documentation, etc. associated with applicant’s engineering discipline.
Additional Experience/Skills preferred : Experience using engineering lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, loads etc. Experience with MATLAB, Altium, and SolidWorks as applicable to the applicant’s engineering field of study. Experience with Visio and MS Project is a plus.
Note: The NASA Space Grant Summer Internship is funded through the Oklahoma State University (OSU), the recipient(s) will work at our facility located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The internship typically pays $15.00/hour for 333 hours of work performed during the summer break.
