Overview
NATIONWIDE SEARCH: SAINT LOUIS, MO--A warm, welcoming family in Kirkwood, a charming suburb of Saint Louis, seeks a thoughtful, experienced FULL-TIME NANNY to join their household for a one-year commitment starting in July 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who is passionate about supporting young children’s development and fostering a harmonious sibling dynamic. The family has two sweet boys—an active, curious 3-year-old and a cheerful 10-month-old—and is looking for a nanny who brings a calm, confident presence to the home.
Clear, open, and honest communication is a must, as well as someone who aligns with their parenting philosophy (teaching patience, building frustration tolerances during meltdowns, etc.). Mom will be working from home in a dedicated workspace and a full calendar. She needs to be able to communicate effectively with their nanny about expectations and defining spaces/boundaries for both parties. Parents wish for their home and children’s experiences to be filled with love and support, as well as to help build patience and frustration tolerance as they grow. Someone who can encourage their children to play and to be exposed to many social interactions (health and safety permitting) as possible. Someone who is thoughtful about age-developmental play and exposes them to books and new learning opportunities.
The ideal candidate is deeply invested in the children’s growth, development, safety, and social interactions, and approaches their role with thoughtfulness, intentionality, and professionalism. While a degree or background in early childhood education is preferred, it is not required—educationally focused candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
The position is full-time, offering 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30am–5:30pm. However, the family is open to candidates seeking closer to 40 hours, with the option to bring in a secondary caregiver to supplement coverage. Duties include managing morning routines, drop-off and pick-up for the eldest (who attends preschool from 8:45am–3:45pm, 15 minutes away), caring for the youngest throughout the day, handling kids’ laundry, packing lunches, unloading the dishwasher, tidying play areas, and cleaning up after the children. Mom occasionally travels for work about once per month. During this time, they would ask the nanny to be flexible to arrive early and stay later, though overnights are not expected.
The family is open to local or out-of-state candidates and is happy to assist with relocation logistics. They are open to exploring live-in arrangements or offering a housing stipend for the right fit. Compensation begins at $30+/hour, and the family is offering paid vacation, holidays, and sick days.
The family has a friendly golden retriever who simply needs to be let in/out and fed when mom is traveling. No travel is required for the position. Start date is flexible, but ideally July 7, 2025.
