Job Description
- Req#: 113116BR
- Maintains smooth operation of a variety of networks. Plans, evaluates, designs, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
- Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- An active Secret Clearance is required
- Must be able to obtain a Security+ or equivalent security certification within 6 months of starting
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex problems in a production environment
- Minimum of a High School Diploma and 5-7 or more years of relevant experience
- Ability to independently research solutions to problems and propose viable solutions
- Ability to work with multiple teams to accomplish complex tasks
- Comfortable working with multiple vendors in a heterogeneous environment
- Familiarity with at least one virtualization platform
- Good understanding of Cisco and Juniper technologies
- Experience with LAN switching technologies such as VLANS, spanning tree, and ether-channel
- Capable of configuring network routing protocols such as Static OSPF & BGP
- Comfortable with Firewall routing, policy, and inspection
- Familiarity with configuring and managing NAT devices
- Experience with IP-Sec VPNs and GRE
- Security + or equivalent certification
- Experience with various WAN technologies such as MPLS and Ethernet
- Familiarity with networking requirements for high performance storage systems
- Experience with network virtualization and SD-WAN
- A basic knowledge of programming languages like Python
- Understand EVPN-VXLAN overlay architectures
- Experience with VMware network architectures
- Use of data center orchestration technologies such as Apstra
- Familiarity with multicast technologies and anycast routing
- Experience with high speed Ethernet technologies (25GB, 40GB, & 100GB physical implementation)
- Familiarity with public cloud technologies
- Work in a GitOps style automation pipeline
- Familiarity with at least one virtualization platform
