- Bachelor’s Degree in theology, divinity, religious studies, pastoral ministry, spirituality, ethics, or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited university or seminary and/or Masters of Public Health: Preferred
- Seven years' related experience Five years' leadership experience Three years' experience as a full-time mission leader, Chaplain or pastor Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an accredited center: Preferred
- Current ministerial credential from the Seventh-day Adventist Church: Preferred
- Ecclesiastical endorsement by Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries: Preferred
- Leads network Mission and Spiritual Care (chaplaincy) to effectively reflect the organizations mission in the care of patients and staff in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Oversees operation of the Mission and Spiritual Care Department including goal setting, staffing, service standards, scheduling, budget preparation, conducting staff meetings, administering the Chaplain's Fund and selecting/training volunteers. Provides and/or organizes the provision of spiritual care, visitation, education, counseling services and worship experiences as requested for patients, residents, clients and staff throughout the market. Oversees the delivery of certified and clinically integrated spiritual care to all patients served, and demonstrates the tangible difference such care makes within our faith-based healthcare.
- Coordinates and facilitates ministry of chaplains to staff, including education, integration, and evaluation of mission quality standards. Recruits, leads and inspires Spiritual Ambassadors to perform roles and maximize impact, integrating their ministry within the life of the campus and supporting specific initiatives. Provides direct pastoral care as appropriate. Embodies and communicates the Adventist Health mission internally and externally. Functions as liaison and connection with faith communities on behalf of the organization. Responsible to customize and deliver orientation of new employees into the mission and values of Adventist Health. Functions as liaison andrepresentative of Adventist Health to the sponsoring church of Seventh-day Adventists.
- Leads Mission Integration initiatives in alignment with system and network strategies in collaboration with network executive team. Develops mission integration programs and materials for all areas of local ministry including hospital, clinics, partners and affiliates; helping ensure that all staff, employees and physicians understand and embrace the heritage, history and unique mission of Adventist Health with our commitment to faith inspired care. Partners with Human Recourses in developing means for mission integration into recruiting, on boarding, retaining, educating and other ongoing HR functions. Works with Network Leadership to ensure mission is fully represented, integrated and aligned with strategic and operational decisions.
- Ensures that mission initiatives support the Patient Experience goals at a ministry level. Works with Network Experience team to provide spiritual foundations for all initiatives. Assists campus leadership in fostering culture of care that reflects our holistic approach to health and is visual through inspirational symbolism on all campuses. Works with network leadership to develop and implement metrics and accountability standards for mission. Adheres and models behavior in accordance with Seventh-day Adventist principles and the mission and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Performs mission and culture-oriented duties including delivering culture and devotional talks, conducting devotionals for huddles and meetings, and incorporation of Seventh-day Adventist interpretation of scripture.
- Collaborates on mission-related outreach strategies and events that support the organization's faith-inspired mission. Builds connections and trust with local congregations. Collaborates with ministry and faith community leadership to deploy congregational health outreach strategies to better serve the health and well-being of their congregants. Partners with faith communities in developing and leading initiatives that enhance the health and wellbeing of the community, especially in ways that are tied directly to key health indicators, needs and risks for the target population. Collaborates with community clergy and hospital staff to provide for patients' and residents' spiritual needs. Partners with Community Health organizations to help align internal cultural realities with overall community health strategy.

Job Summary:
Directs the network alignment and deployment of the Adventist Health Mission Integration Model. Deploys and aligns effective mission initiatives. Oversees network Spiritual Care and Environment. Delivers accountability to measures of mission effectiveness. Develops and creates operational alignment in Calling, Culture and Community.
