Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies
Recommend best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., in order to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements
Design telecommunications circuit specifications.
Identify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services
Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as-Code
Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts
Design and plan network communications systems.
Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
Conduct cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
Conduct testing of network design.
Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network
Advise network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc
Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI
4+ years network configuration network and management experience or 6+ years as a network administrator technician.
Must be a US Citizen
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, network technology, software engineering, information security, or a related field from an accredited University or 5-7 years’ additional experience in lieu of a degree.
Must hold a Certified System Engineer ICAMS PACS (CSEIP) certification.
Proven expertise with network hardware including: routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipment
Proven experience in VMware environments
Proven experience in virtual and physical Internet Protocol and Fiber Channel networks and routing protocols
Proven experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptors
Information Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level III

$108,500 - $162,800
This range is for the Maryland area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
