      Job Description:

      Design, build, and support Flexential customer network infrastructure including core switching, access switching, security, and multisite connectivity. This is a role whose ideal candidate has a wide breadth of networking knowledge and exposure.

      Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

      • Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable network systems using technology from a variety of vendors within virtualized, converged, and cloud infrastructures including Flexential Colocation & Cloud, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
      • Deploy, configure, and manage firewalls and switches from a variety of vendors including Cisco and Fortigate.
      • Design and implement multi-site connectivity for Flexential customers.
      • Create and execute transformation paths for production systems to new platforms or standards.
      • Gather and analyze customer requirements, evaluate options, and select and implement technologies that best suit the customer’s needs.
      • Work with internal Flexential teams to transform, design, and implement complex environments.
      • Establish and document standards, policies, and procedures for internal operations and customer infrastructure.
      • Learn (and share) new skills through independent research, formal training, and industry events.
      • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend new Flexential Professional Services offerings.
      • Participate in pre-sales scoping discussions with Flexential Sales staff and customers.
      • Conduct Flexential workshops with customers.
      • Perform other job-related duties as required.
      • On-call rotation.

      Required Qualifications:

      • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting routers, switches, fault-tolerant redundant environments, and performing hardware maintenance.
      • 2+ years of experience in network engineering with an emphasis on hybrid IT and multi-cloud network design, interconnection, edge networking, and SD-WAN.
      • 1+ years of experience with local and wide area network security
      • Knowledge of IP networking design concepts and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS
      • Understanding of layer-2 interconnection technologies such as VPLS, VXLAN, L2VPN, xSTP, vPC, etc.
      • Familiarity with optical transport gear.
      • Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Juniper operating systems (IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, JunOS, etc).
      • Experience working with major hyperscale and data center providers.
      • Including but not limited to ExpressRoute, DirectConnect, etc.
      • Experience working with reporting tools for logging and Netflow analysis.
      • Experience with network automation and programming preferred.
      • i.e., Python, PERL, PowerShell, Bash, etc.
      • Demonstrated precision in work products and attention to detail.
      • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment.
      • Strong commitment to customer service.
      • Desire to grow and learn new skills in pace with changing technologies.
      • Capability to work independently and self-motivate, with minimal supervision.
      • Ability to delegate work effectively and ensure quality outcomes.
      • Leadership and mentoring that align with servant-leader philosophy.
      • Effective at time management and establishing budgets for projects.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills.
      • Good decision-making abilities a must.
      • BA/BS education preferred.
      • Professional level technical certifications are considered a plus.
      • Experience with products such as EveNG and other lab and modeling tools is considered a plus.
      • Experience with network virtualization and overlay networking is considered a plus.

      Physical Requirements

      • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
      • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage

      Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $80,000 - $90,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
