- Lead the design and architecture of complex, scalable network solutions for temporary deployments and events.
- Develop comprehensive network designs encompassing LAN, WAN, WLAN, and security components.
- Create detailed network diagrams, topologies, and documentation for each project.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Lead teams in executing rapid network deployments, ensuring all components are properly integrated and functional.
- Implement advanced routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and optimize network performance.
- Design and implement high-density WiFi networks for large-scale events.
- Conduct RF site surveys using tools like Ekahau or Hamina, and optimize wireless network performance.
- Configure and manage various vendors' wireless controllers and access points (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Extreme Networks).
- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for temporary network environments.
- Configure and manage firewalls, IPS/IDS systems, and VPNs to ensure data protection.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments, recommending and implementing necessary improvements.
- Implement and manage network monitoring solutions using tools such as SNMP, NetFlow, and specialized NMS platforms.
- Analyze network performance metrics and implement optimizations to enhance speed, reliability, and user experience.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple technologies and vendor platforms.
- Act as the lead technical point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables.
- Provide regular status updates and technical briefings to both internal teams and clients.
- Lead and mentor junior network engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering their professional development.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and internal training to elevate the team's overall technical capabilities.
- Awareness and understanding of emerging networking technologies and industry trends.
- Evaluate new products and technologies for potential integration into SUT's service offerings.
- Contribute to developing best practices and standard operating procedures for the engineering team.
- Position is in Los Angeles, California only.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field. Temporary Network Deployment Experience will also be considered in lieu of field-specialized degree.
- At least 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 4 years focusing on temporary and event-based deployments.
- Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, etc.)
- Strong experience with Cisco networking equipment and software.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise-grade wireless networks.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across multi-vendor network environments.
- Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems, and the CLI management of such systems.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Motivated self-starter with a "team-first" attitude.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with formal written communications (Outlook, Word, Teams).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google platforms (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.).
- Knowledge in multiple mobile device platforms (iOS, Android etc.).
- Flexible schedule, ability to work weekends, and travel are required.
- Possess a valid Driver's License and Passport.
- Ability to legally operate their own vehicle and company vehicles.
- CCNP/CCIE (Routing & Switching, Wireless, or Security) certification.
- Additional vendor certifications (e.g., Juniper JNCIE, Aruba ACMX, Extreme Networks EXNCE).
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and intent-based networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud networking technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of AV over IP technologies and standards.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes etc.
- Experience with Cisco collaboration environments (Webex, Call Managers, Video endpoints and IP Phones)

We seek an experienced and versatile Network Engineer to lead our team in designing, deploying, and managing comprehensive network solutions for events and temporary deployments around the world. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various networking technologies and expertise in wired and wireless systems. This role requires adaptability to challenging field conditions and the ability to deliver robust network solutions under tight deadlines.
This role requires extensive travel and significant experience in temporary network deployments focused across varying locations ranging from major conference centers to outdoor environments.
This is NOT a remote position, and candidates are expected to be able to report regularly to the Los Angeles office when not traveling for network deployments.
