      Overview of position:

      FEDITC is seeking an experienced, C4I Network Engineer Senior to be responsible for the successful performance in supporting the 8th Army C4I Deployable IT Services at United States Army Garrison (USAG) Humphreys, Pyeongtaek, South Korea. All work is related to C4I. Information Technology (IT) has transformed traditional battlefield functions, through emerging IT applications, progressing towards full realization of net-centric warfare. The complexity as well as number of 8A systems and networks has rapidly outgrown our organic ability to manage them. This support ensures a robust net-centric infrastructure, maintains network dominance, supplements our organic personnel and is fundamental to accomplishing the 8A mission.

      This is an upcoming opportunity contingent on contract award with a projected start date of 2 December 2024.

      • A United States Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance with a minimum Background Investigation complete NALC\T3 with SSBI\T5 initiated. is required to be considered for this position.
      • Must either reside in South Korea or be willing to relocate if currently outside of South Korea

      Responsibilities:

      • Augment the 8A G6 Plans and Projects team by performing network engineering and technical services
      • Act as the Tactical Network Service focal point
      • Act on trouble tickets NLT 24 hours of receipt
      • Document 100% of trouble tickets to include providing details of all coordination and troubleshooting actions attempted and provide their results. Report all open Tactical Network Service trouble-tickets’ status in the Weekly Activity Report
      • Provide engineering support for Wide Area Network (WAN) services; to include the provision, monitoring, and management of voice and data multiple networks that interconnect two or more separate facilities that span a geographic area larger than a campus or metropolitan area. Transmission technologies include, but are not limited to, dedicated Internet connections, Internet-based Virtual Private Networks, Circuit activation, WAN Acceleration Hardware/ Software, Identity Service Engine (Cisco ISE), Black Core, Commercial and Korea specific network connections
      • Develop and revise WAN diagrams at the request of the government representative identified by the COR on the media provided by the Government
      • Provide engineering support for Local Area Network (LAN) services; to include the provision, monitoring, and management of networks that are usually confined to a single facility or portion of a facility. LAN components may include wired and wireless LANs supporting all network traffic originating from desktop devices, local file and print servers, application servers, database servers, peripherals, firewalls/routers, other network devices and other user premise devices
      • Deliver security management solutions that ensure cybersecurity while maintaining functionality and usability of the Korea networks including, but not limited to NIPRNET, SIPRNET and CENTRIXS- K enterprise networks
      • Plan, design, and execute 8A tactical network support requirements; to include physical and network security standards (i.e., PDS, TEMPEST, COMSEC, and OPSEC)
      • Perform and complete all engineering, integration, and project management requirements for all funded projects involving new and/or additional tactical network infrastructure installations and upgrades
      • Research interoperability platforms between U.S - U.S. Allies and make recommendations to the Government on how to accomplish interoperability throughout the KTO

      Qualifications


      Experience/Skills:

      • Three (3) of the last four (6) years performing Network Engineering tasks

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field. Bachelor’s degree can be waived with four (4) continuous years performing Network Engineering tasks

      Certifications:

      • DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

      Clearance:

      • US Secret Clearance, Minimum Background Investigation complete NALC\T3 with SSBI/T5 initiated.
