Participate on a team in performing assigned responsibilities.

Develop and document operating policies, standards, processes, practices, and procedures

Coordinate the development and issuance of Technical Operating documentation with internal and external stakeholders
-
Develop strong working relationships with other line of business departments where technical documentation crosses inter-business unit boundaries.

Participate on working teams to resolve operational issues with other line of business departmental staff
-
Provide technical support relating to the posted technical documents to the various System Operations departments related to transmission and distribution operating issues.

Provide operations support and input to Hydro One strategic initiatives
-
Respond to requests relating to technical documentation or CRIS database concerns as required.

Employ investigative analysis techniques to solve issues not readily recognized or known to System Operations
-
Provide operations support to the various System Operations Departments as it relates to technical documentation or CRIS data.
-
Review and provide feedback on new or revised policies, standards, processes, and procedures from non-operating sources from a System Operations operability perspective
-
Liaise with IESO on matters related to system events/disturbances, Operating documentation, and other technical inquiries relating to documentation or processes
-
Respond to recommended corrective actions from System disturbance post event analysis as they relate to Operating direction and documentation, and develop documentation relating to corrective actions
-
Liaise with other Hydro One staff to resolve technical/operating issues relating to PSDB and relay databases as it relates to CRIS application functionality and availability of required data to Operating Planning and HONI Control Room staff

Liase with CRIS application support and ISD on PSDB data and functionality of the CRIS application
-
Communicate operating restrictions and concerns in a concise and logical manner to provide operational critical details

Provide Technical Documentation support to the development of operating policies, standards, processes, practices, and procedures, and HODS documents that affect Operations staff.

Adhere to corporate policies and procedures as required

Assist in other duties of the OATS as workload and priorities dictate, mentor business co-op students

Demonstrated organizational and planning skills, able to keep longer term projects and accountabilities on track including timely report generation, timely agenda, and minutes preparation for meetings

Requires excellent communications skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders and produce technical instructions. Clear and concise English communication skills both verbal and written.

Requires operating/technical experiences to understand the practical aspects of power system operations, and what details and direction are required by the Operating Planning and Control Room staff in the execution of their duties.

Demonstrated understanding of Operational instructions, and standards.

Working knowledge of integrated power system operations, including generation and transmission components and their impact on system security and economics.

Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both internal and external customers.

Comprehensive appreciation and commitment to customer needs and understanding of the hierarchy of decision making in relation to how assets are operated.

Working knowledge and ability to acquire computer skill needed in using Microsoft applications, Hydro One computer applications, and other vendor provided programs and applications including Sharepoint, Infobase, NODS, HODS, CRIS, Relay database, PCMIS, NMS, ADMS

Provide advice and communications products to external stakeholders, corporate and Network Management staff to assist in the understanding and implementation of OATS strategies, policies, processes and standards.

Develop, implement and maintain technical operating instructions/documents e.g. Network Management Instructions, System Operations Memo’s, and Key Operating Points (KOPS) within established guidelines and formats and to maintain their currency.

Determine operating requirements, prepare documentation, stakeholdering with internal/external disciplines from affected Lines of Business, and issuing to the live system.

Represent System Operations by developing presentations and technical reports and specifications.
-
Respond to requests for information updates to document system, Control Room Information System, and other on-line systems in support of departments across System Operations.

Review and provide feedback on the implications and operability of new or revised documentation, processes and tools for System Operations, Transmission and Distribution System Control.

Represent the Company on various internal and external workgroups, committees, and initiatives.

Conduct and/or participate on equipment and procedural investigations to identify lessons learned and suggest solutions/remedies.
-
Assist the Manager in developing and measuring standards of performance against generally accepted ‘good utility practices’ across the industry.

Six to Eight years of relevant experience, most of which should be in; Operating, outage scheduling, outage coordination, field operations (Operating, P&C), and/or system operating, and training.

Education- Requires university/college education in an appropriate field such as electrical engineering
