      Job Details:

      Job Description:

Intel's Neuromorphic Computing Lab is seeking a senior neuromorphic algorithm researcher to pioneer a new class of algorithms and applications targeting Intel's neuromorphic processors. Our goal is to exploit neuromorphic and related non-von Neumann architectures to solve real-world problems with orders of magnitude gains versus the best-known conventional solutions in applications ranging from cloud to edge based systems.

As a senior researcher, you will prototype hardware-aware neuromorphic algorithms for use on real-world applications in collaboration with external customers and research partners. You will be part of a diverse international team of engineers and researchers working together on our mission to demonstrate the commercial value of our technology. Your day-to-day work may range from designing new projects, gathering requirements for customer use cases, high-level algorithm development, porting algorithms to Intel's neuromorphic systems, benchmarking their performance against conventional solutions, developing software application libraries, deploying application prototypes with customers, publishing or presenting results in journals or at conferences.

To be successful in this position, we are seeking candidates with a strong background in deep learning, machine learning, mathematical optimization, computational neuroscience, probability theory, or statistical mechanics and expert software development skills. Candidates should also come with a demonstrated track record of turning these skills into innovative technical solutions as measured by peer-reviewed publications or patents in the fields of interest. Outstanding presentation skills and experience in designing and managing projects are considered a strong plus.

This position involves work on US Government Contracts and/or proposals for US Government Contracts that limit participation to US Citizens. A person may be required to provide proof of US Citizenship in order to comply with US government requirements. Any offer by Intel for this position is conditioned upon satisfying any government requirements regarding proof of citizenship.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • The candidate must possess a PhD degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Computational Neuroscience, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
      • 3+ years of theoretical and applied experience in deep learning, machine learning, mathematical optimization and related SW tools and libraries.
      • 1+ years of experience with developing algorithms for neuromorphic hardware systems using software frameworks such as Lava.
      • 4+ years of experience in Python and/or C/C++ with the ability to design and write quality code.
      • 1+ years or experience in collaborative software development (design methodologies, SCRUM, version control, software testing, etc.)

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with computer vision, audio, and general signal processing
      • Experience with transformer algorithms
      • Experience with parallel programming
      • Experience with performance profiling and benchmarking algorithms and hardware architectures
      • Good grasp of basic computer architecture principles and algorithms
