      Job Description

      Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, in a dynamic role for a Registry position as the Neuropsychology Technician for our Neuropsychology service. The clinic provides assessment and diagnostic services for pediatric and adult patients for a wide variety of neurological and psychiatric conditions.

      In this role, the Registry Neuropsychology Technician is responsible for the core activities of the Neuropsychology Service including test administration and scoring of neuropsychology evaluations and consultations; maintaining raw data and test files; scheduling and coordinating patient appointments. This position requires a commitment of at least 2 clinic days (8 hours day shift). Your assigned clinic days will stay consistent throughout the year.

      Essential Job Functions:

      • Administer over 80 different verbal, non-verbal, and written neuropsychological and psychological tests
      • Score tests using standard scoring methods
      • Quality Control: Review test files to ensure they are complete and correct
      • Maintain test files
      • Help gather special records, such as previous medical and psychological reports from other departments as required to complete patient records
      • Schedule assessments for patients by setting up consultation and lab appointments
      • Ensure the department has current copies of tests and adequate supplies. Collect and maintain referral logs and statistics
      • Support and train externs and interns during neuropsychological evaluations. Coordinate patient appointments with referral sources and families. Assist in billing and the management of medical charts as necessary
      • Perform other duties as assigned

      Required Qualifications:

      • A completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational body
      • Must be able to train and supervise interns and other trainees
      • Must be able to interact with patients, faculty, and staff with tact, courtesy, and a professional demeanor

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • A completed Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience
      • 1+ years of experience as a Neuropsychology Technician or equivalent to those job duties
      • Have strong analytical skills
      • Have a high level of organizational ability
      • Experience with Epic, Microsoft Office

      Compensation & Benefits Overview

      UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

      The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
