Teach the NC English Language Proficiency Standard Course of Study and instruct students in a classroom in accordance with NC-approved language instruction.
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials. Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
Attend all student days and teacher work days.
Enter student data as needed.
Set up and take down the classroom space.
Plan and teach whole group and small group math lessons.
Communicate with parents as needed.
Support students with math coursework.
Perform before-school and after-school duties as needed, including arrival and dismissal.
N.C. ESL teacher certification is required
Highly Qualified designation in ESL
Certification in additional core content areas is preferred

Job Description
Job Title: Newcomer ML Teacher- Summer
Salary Schedule: Compensation for Summer School will be provided at a flat hourly rate of $45 for Certified Staff and $22.50 for Classified Staff. Payment will be based on actual hours worked and logged into the Timekeeper system. These hourly rates include all local supplements.
Reports To: School/Site Administrator

Work Location: FPG (Elementary), Smith (Middle), CHS (High)
FLSA Status:
Dates of Program: July 8 - July 31, 2024 (M-TH)
Closed July 4 and Fridays
Additional Required Teacher Workdays:
7:30 AM - 2:30 PM Daily (staff workday)
8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Daily (student hours)
8:15 AM - 3:45 PM Daily (staff workday)
8:45 AM - 3:15 PM Daily (student Hours)
