Job Description

- 5 fertility business stories per month, specifically and fully aligned with our Editorial Guide, identified, assigned to journalists and edited. Editor is responsible for coming up with story ideas and developing them into assignment briefs. Sources suggested, introduced. Ranked in order of priority. Most important news sought out and broken
- Editorial Processes, Policies, and Resources updated. We may encounter examples where we need to strengthen or modify our policies or things like sourcing, fact-checking, corrections and amplifications and others. Or our processes such as article assignment, edit phases, and others. Or our resources such as our journalist media kit, editorial guide, or source directory. We expect you to identify these specific areas and to update them once approved.
- Three articles ahead at all times. Written, Edited, Approved Ready to go in MailChimp, in case Editor or Company Owner become unavailable for a time or articles have to be moved around
- One news article released at 9am ET every Thursday or sooner when possible for breaking news. Fact-checked, proofread, and fully edited, according to standards and voice of our Editorial Guide
- Media kit that represents vision and audience
- Brand guide with mission and taglines
- Digest project manager, the person who tracks deadlines
- Digest Planner view in Asana
- Digest project in Asana for each new
- Human Resources team to help bring on new freelance journalists
- 3 freelance journalists who have each written multiple articles for Inside Reproductive Health
- Repository of 30 past articles
- Editorial guide with our ethos, voice, and examples of what we do and don’t do
- Instructions for Top editing in Digest project in Asana, yet.. You have to build this process
- Pdf document on background of fertility field for you to study
- Introductory piece for journalists to use when reaching out to sources
- General fertility articles are not acceptable, you will have to be intimately acquainted with the business side of the fertility field
- No source guide, yet. You will have the opportunity to help build this
- No audience personas or only have outdated audience personas.
- Audience data on individual articles is not easily accessible, yet
- Freelance journalists don’t have company email addresses yet
- Editorial guide and its policies are still being developed. You will have the opportunity to help codify and detail it
- The project manager is responsible for making sure a story comes out every week. You have to determine which one runs based on newsworthiness and which can wait
- Must Get, Want, and have the Capacity to achieve the outcomes aligned with the role
- Must be a plus or a plus/minus on each of the five core values of Fertility Bridge
- Leader specifies and judges the result of the outcome.
- Must be on brand with Fertility Bridge and Inside Reproductive Health brand guidelines
- Employee or contractor must specify exactly what is required to achieve outcome
- Must be accountable in Asana
- Must create Fertility Bridge assets in Fertility Bridge drives using Fertility Bridge account

Sound interesting? We’re looking for someone who can not only meet the outcomes above but also someone that has a background in traditional news journalism . Someone that has a passion for the editorial process and is excited to be able to roll up their sleeves and tweak and update as needed. A background in reporting financials on different businesses is a plus as well as having managed/built a bench of freelance journalists. This new role has a huge amount of potential for impact for someone to come in and show us what they can do.
